Monday - Thursday: 8:00am - 7:00pm

Friday: 8:00am - 3:00pm

Saturday: 9:00am - 12:00pm

Sunday: Closed

We Can Provide You With:
  • Access to psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and other clinical staff
  • A safe and respectful environment for people in distress
  • Medication evaluation
  • Appropriate referrals to other community resources
  • Targeted reminder calls for follow up services
  • Coordination of care with other service providers
Eligibility

Individuals undergoing a mental health crisis, including substance abuse problems that complicate other mental health issues.



This is a pilot service through Alliance Behavioral Healthcare, serving those with Medicaid or those uninsured within Durham, Wake, Cumberland, and Johnston counties. (Note: Those with private insurance can pay out-of-pocket fee for services.)



Individuals who are medically compromised, are acutely intoxicated, need detox, or are at higher risk of violence would be better served by a hospital Emergency Department or Durham Recovery Response Center.

Who Do We Serve?

Individuals four years of age and older within the Alliance catchmen area who are having a mental health crisis or substance abuse problems.

Why Come to the BHUC?

If you need to see your psychiatrist or therapist immediately and they are unavailable.

If you want to initiate or re-engage in mental health services.

What Should I Bring?

Medicaid card and/or photograph identification if possible.
